Randolph M. Karsh

            Mr. Karsh practices principally in the areas of foreign and domestic taxation and domestic business formation and operation.  He is widely experienced in structuring transactions involving business entities of every type, from their formation and capitalization to their operation and taxation.  Mr. Karsh counsels U.S. for profit and nonprofit clients on matters impacting entity choice and formation, taxation, and long-term planning. 

 

            A Spanish linguist, Mr. Karsh served in 1994 as special tax counsel to the Mexico City law firm of Barrera, Siqueiros y Torres Landa S.C. and has extensive experience in structuring and financing ventures between U.S. companies and foreign entities and individuals.  He received his degree in economics from the University of Colorado in 1966 and his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1969.  After serving as a law clerk to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and as a Colorado Public Defender in Denver, Mr. Karsh earned a Master of Laws Degree in taxation from New York University before beginning his career in private practice. 

 

            Mr. Karsh is the author of a chapter entitled United States Income, Estate and Gift Taxation of Nonresident Alien Individuals, which appeared in the Colorado Estate Planning Handbook published by the Colorado Bar Association.  In addition to his membership in several professional associations, Mr. Karsh serves as a member of the Advisory Committee for Easter Seals of Southern Colorado and is a past President of the Northend Homeowners Association in Colorado Springs.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the El Paso County Bar Association.
